MMTA J.A.T.F Grant

Got your sights set on the open road, but can’t afford training? That’s exactly why the Maine Motor Transport Association built the John Austin Trucking Foundation. Each month, up to 8 Mainers receive a one-time grant of up to $2,000 to cover CDL or trucking-related training. To apply, a candidate must live and/or work in Maine, AND fall under one of the following categories: Those who can’t otherwise afford the training they seek; Graduating high school seniors (as this program will eventually replace the John W. Austin Memorial Scholarship). A recent transcript and your graduation date are required; Members of the military or veterans with honorable discharge; Those with a connection to an MMTA member company; Or the likelihood that the award will be used in a way that benefits the Maine trucking industry.

P.E.O. Sisterhood Grant

This grant is offered to women who are pursuing a certification program to help them advance their employment opportunities. Candidates must receive a recommendation from their local P.E.O. chapter. The amount is up to $3,000. Apply online by filling out the form at the P.E.O. International Website.
